Public Safety Overview:

WRI has received funding from the NJ Attorney General’s Office to work with law enforcement and community agencies on four key crime suppression initiatives in Camden City.  The Camden City Curfew Project,  designed to prevent youth crime and connect those youth most at-risk of becoming involved in gangs or violence with community resources; the Camden Safer Cities Initiative, which brings together law enforcement, supervision agencies and social service providers to improve offender re-entry services; and Camden Community Connections an intervention program for young offenders designed to break the chain of criminality in their lives through counseling, educational support and employment skill training.  Four District Community Collaborative Boards were established in Camden to increase community engagement by providing structured opportunities for citizens, police and government entities to engage in collaborative problem-solving. WRI provides administrative support, process evaluation and data analysis for these programs.
